Service Overview

Foothills Moving Company provides residential and commercial moving services within North Carolina. All moves are performed by trained, professional movers using industry-standard equipment.

Scheduling & Deposits

• All moves require a deposit to secure a moving date.

• Deposits are applied to the final invoice.

• Move details must be confirmed at least 48 hours before your scheduled time.

Rates & Payment

• Moves are billed hourly, starting when our crew leaves our facility and ending when they return.

• Final payment is due upon completion of the move.

• Accepted payments: cash, card, or approved digital payments.

Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations made 48+ hours before the move receive a full deposit refund.

• Cancellations within 48 hours may result in forfeiture of the deposit.

Damage & Liability Policy

Our Responsibility

We take care to protect your belongings. If damage occurs:

• Damage must be reported immediately or within 24 hours of move completion.

• We are not liable for items that:

  • Were previously damaged

  • Are fragile or improperly packed

  • Were packed by the customer

  • Contain concealed items

  • Are made of particleboard/pressboard

  • Are electronics not packed in original or proper padded packaging

Valuation Coverage

By default, we provide standard NC-required coverage of $0.60 per pound per item.
Customers may request Full Value Protection for an additional fee before the move.

High-Value Items

Items worth over $100 per pound must be declared prior to the move. Failure to declare such items may limit liability.

Exclusions

We do not transport or accept liability for:

• Firearms, ammunition, explosives

• Hazardous or flammable materials

• Live animals or perishables

• Loose cash, jewelry, or high-value personal items

• Items moved against crew recommendation due to safety concerns

5. Limitations of Service

We reserve the right to refuse service in environments that are unsafe, unsanitary, or contain prohibited items.
We also reserve the right to cancel or reschedule services due to weather, equipment issues, or events outside of our control.
